Capitol is an art house cinema, located at Skanstorget 1 in Gothenburg, showing quality movies daily. You can buy tickets at our box office during opening hours, which are half an hour before the first screening until the start of the last screening or on this web page.

Tickets for Capitol  are normally SEK 120. We have a senior citizen and student discount of SEK 20.

To get here you take the number 2 tram to ”Handelshögskolan” and walk around the block, or you take trams 3, 6, or 11 to ”Hagakyrkan” and walk for about 5 mins. Or you can take buses 25 or Rosa express stopping at ”Pilgatan”, and you should be able to see the neon sign.

Movies are generally in original language with Swedish subtitles.

We are also hosting the Cinematheque, which is the Swedish Film Institute’s film club with everything film related, from rare silent films to modern classics and cutting edge experimental work.
